Another quality release is now on the menu at House Heads, courtesy of Effendi, while also marking and celebrating the label’s 100th release. The Hungarian DJ and producer has been a regular performer in Budapest’s club scene since the mid-1990s. Over the years, in addition to these clubs, he has also become a frequent performer at some of Hungary’s most renowned festivals. Furthermore, he released two gold-certified mix albums during the 2000s. His DJ sets primarily focus on energetic house music, although nu-disco tracks are also an important part of his musical identity. In recent years, he has increasingly turned his attention to music production, and his own productions reflect a similar musical direction. Elements of funk and disco can often be found in his tracks, while he also has a strong affinity for uplifting and energetic vocals, which he frequently combines with driving grooves. Recently, he has released music on respected labels such as Pornostar Records, Tactical, and Play and Tonic, while he also previously made his debut on House Heads with an excellent single release. Now he returns with another brand-new single entitled “Set Me Free”. Effendi’s signature sound is once again strongly present throughout the track, as dynamic house beats are joined by a live disco bassline that defines the groove. The arrangement features an excellent synth melody and additional house elements, while the gospel vocal completes the record, reaching its full impact during the break.
