After nearly 25 years away from music production, Fred Giteau returns with 8/80. An unexpected comeback, almost outside of time. Active since the 1990s within the early trance and Goa trance scenes, Fred Giteau had already developed a unique musical identity. His DJ sets and productions were never limited to a single genre: acid, techno, progressive and trance blended freely to create a hypnotic and deeply personal atmosphere. With 8/80, that spirit remains unchanged. Some will hear techno, others trance or progressive. But for Fred, music has never been about fitting into categories. Above all, it is about emotion, energy and hypnotic repetition. The EP also carries a strong old-school influence through the almost exclusive use of legendary Roland machines: the TR-909, Juno and the inevitable TB-303. Iconic sounds that helped shape the history of electronic music and give these compositions an authentic and timeless character. 8/80 also reflects an intense period of life marked by encounters, personal upheavals and deep emotional turbulence. Those emotions naturally emerge throughout the music, moving between euphoria, tension, melancholy and vulnerability. Through this EP, Fred Giteau delivers a sincere, free and deliberately unclassifiable project. Music that does not try to follow trends, but simply aims to express something real. 8/80 is life in all its complexity: sometimes bright, sometimes chaotic, but always deeply human.
