Oppaacha returns to Bar 25 Music with ‘Memento,’ a two-track EP that follows his debut ‘Promise Yourself’ on the label, an emotionally charged statement that earned strong reception across the catalogue. Written during a period of emotional rebuilding and reassessing values, these tracks try to catch subtle things that are not always easy to explain with words. ‘Memento’ pulls Oppaacha back to 2009, when he was just starting to dive into electronic music, a time when everything felt new, exciting and mysterious, a feeling he tried to hold onto in the track. ‘False Escape’ is a story about trying to run away, about staying with the wrong person, in the wrong thing, or in the wrong version of your life simply because honesty with yourself feels harder than staying put. Its organ bass carries him back to his student years, his first attempts, his mistakes, and the long search for his own sound.
