The Knacklers : Beef On Toast EP The Knacklers make their debut on Evasive Records with the Beef On Toast EP, a collaboration over twenty years in the making. Formed by longtime friends Jesse Benitez and Paul Donton, the duo draw on deep roots in the original underground tech-house movement, delivering two original productions backed by remixes from scene pioneers Terry Francis and Alexi Delano. Opening the release, Burrito First is a low-slung tech-house groover built around a weighty sub-bass and rolling percussion. Dubbed-out synth stabs and subtle rhythmic twists create a hypnotic flow, making it a perfect soundtrack for those deeper moments on the dancefloor. Tech-house royalty Terry Francis steps up for remix duties on Burrito First, delivering his debut appearance on Evasive Records. His interpretation pushes the track into more driving territory, combining jackin’ rhythms, chopped vocal fragments and an infectious synth hook with the unmistakable groove that has made him one of the genre’s most respected names. The title track, Beef On Toast, sees The Knacklers explore darker and more organic textures. Rising acidic synth lines weave through tough house rhythms, creating a heads-down late-night weapon equally suited to peak-time sessions and after-hours dancefloors. Closing the EP, underground aficionado Alexi Delano also makes his Evasive debut with a powerful rework of Beef On Toast. Bringing a techno-infused edge to the original, Delano expertly fuses dark atmospherics, driving percussion and his distinctive production style while retaining the essence of the source material. With deep grooves, rolling rhythms and remixes from two scene pioneers, Beef On Toast EP is a fitting introduction to The Knacklers’ sound – a twenty-year journey distilled into four cuts built for late-night dancefloors.
