Vague Imaginaires, project of Grenoble-based sound artist Denis Morin, slides in perfectly on Multi Culti World Records with ‘L’Ile Sans Frontieres.’ Drawn from a world of influences, trippy, nostalgic electronic music with heady musings on freedom, migration and collective imagination. Blending ambient techno, house, field recordings, spoken word and dubby textures, these tracks occupy an uncertain territory between club culture and full trip-out sound art. Featuring auto-tuned voices gathered through workshops with migrant communities, Morin expands the world of his ‘Island’ series, a borderless sonic landscape where personal histories, imagined geographies and shared human experience drift freely between cultures, generations and states of mind.
