This is the 1st teaser single announcing the forthcoming compilation “Future Sounds Of Jazz Vol. 16″, compiled by Michael Reinboth and Michael Rütten, to be released on 18th of September’26. Contrast Trio from Frankfurt kicks off Vol. 16 with a superb future jazz track, starting off with a sublime, delicate touch before building up fantastically to an intense final crescendo. Frankfurt’s very own Contrast Trio, lead by bass player and electronic music producer Timothy Roth and outstanding jazz pianist Yuiry Sych, just reformed in late 2025. After witnessing the extended version of „Spot” at their exclusive live appearance at the Museum of Applied Arts late last year Michael Rütten was just blown away by the intense build up and improvised combination of electronic sounds, sensitive piano playing and dubbed out drums. Capturing this energy in an afternoon’s studio session for this exclusive shorter version has been quite a challenge but turned out to be a on point definition of future jazz.
