Counter Culture makes his Metalheadz debut with a two-track release for the METHXX series. Drawing from a wide range of influences including punk, reggae and hip hop through to jungle and soundsystem culture, his productions are built around texture, space and weight. ‘NMTB’ is inspired by the raw guitar riff of the Never Mind the Buzzcocks theme, switching it into a heavy bassline and stripped-back roller. Since being tested at Fabric, it has quickly become a firm favourite in his sets. On the flip, ‘Make Me’ moves into darker territory with a combination of deep pads and techno-inspired textures, also with a standout vocal hook. Two tracks that showcase the depth and character of Counter Culture’s sound.
