Behind the Nu Disco / Disco : Release Notes

JØRD and JATS Reimagines DJ Chus’ “Underwater” with two Stunning New Remixes! One of Brazil’s most exciting electronic exports, JØRD brings his unmistakable touch to DJ Chus’ “Underwater”, delivering a fresh interpretation of one of Stereo Productions’ most celebrated recent releases. Widely regarded as one of the fastest-rising and most versatile producers of his generation, JØRD has built an international reputation through genre-defying productions that seamlessly blend House, Indie Dance, Disco, and melodic influences into a sound that is uniquely his own. Originally conceived as DJ Chus’ modern reinterpretation of Harry Thumann’s timeless classic, Underwater marked a return to Chus’ disco roots while embracing contemporary Indie House influences through its hypnotic groove, infectious rhythm, and uplifting spirit. Now, JØRD takes the record into new territory. Respecting the original’s soul and emotional essence, he injects it with his signature groove-driven production, adding deeper textures, powerful synth work, and irresistible modern energy that transforms the track into a completely new dancefloor experience. JATS is the other talent putting his hands on ‘Underwater’ to reinterpret Thumann’s classic, adding a reminiscence-magic female vocal that takes his remix to a completely different level. The result is a remix that feels both sophisticated and explosive, balancing nostalgia with forward-thinking production. JATS’s impeccable studio craftsmanship enhances Underwater’s timeless melodies while creating an epic version perfectly suited to today’s clubs and festivals. Bringing together the visionary spirit of DJ Chus and one of electronic music’s most exciting new talents, the JØRD and JATS remixes of Underwater are a powerful meeting of generations, proving that truly great records keep evolving without losing their identity.
