Behind the House : Release Notes
Ky William – Cold Cowboy – Club Cowgirl Club Cowgirl lassos in its first release of 2026 with a two-track heater from across the pond, courtesy of Brooklyn-based DJ, producer and Andhera founder Ky William. Packed with two club-ready cuts built for the dancefloor, label boss Scarlett O’Malley has dubbed Cold Cowboy ‘the perfect soundtrack to kick off club season.’ Marking the first Club Cowgirl release from an artist other than Scarlett O’Malley herself, Cold Cowboy sets the tone for the label’s vision and sound. O’Malley wanted the first guest release to embody everything Club Cowgirl stands for: infectious grooves, standout vocals and undeniable dancefloor energy. Opening the EP is ‘Cold Gettin’ Bigger’, a hip-house groover driven by a playful, rolling tech house bassline that grabs your attention from the very first beat. In true Club Cowgirl fashion, it’s the hip-hop vocal that steals the show, while layers of ’90s house trumpet stabs, dreamy piano chords, snappy drum fills and vocal chops add texture and character throughout. The result is a feel-good, high-energy record that’s equal parts nostalgic and forward-thinking: a darn-tootin’ hip-house anthem primed for peak-time dancefloors. The second track, ‘Release The Tension’, sees Ky William team up with fellow Andhera artist and A&R Suadi. Leaning into the electro-infused tech house sound making waves in 2026, it’s a certified rodeo roller. A driving electro melody takes centre stage, locked tightly with a pulsating tech house bassline that keeps the momentum rolling. Whispered vocals, piano chords and crisp, tinkling hi-hats complete the package, delivering a fresh yet familiar nod to modern tech house with unmistakable Club Cowgirl flair. A two-track tech house bonanza made to fill the barn floor, groove through the speakers and put a little extra yee in the haw of every party.
