Re Booty by Landslide, Colonel Red

Behind the Breaks / Breakbeat / UK Bass : Release Notes

Boogie Cafe Records celebrates 20 years of a broken beat classic with Re Booty, a special anniversary edition of Landslide featuring Colonel Red’s much-loved ‘Yemp Booty’. Originally released as an instrumental in 2006, ‘Yemp Booty’ remains a standout slice of bruk: raw, soulful and rhythmically charged, with Landslide’s distinctive production providing the perfect foundation for a later version with Colonel Red’s unmistakable vocal performance. Two decades on, the track has lost none of its energy or character. For Re Booty, Landslide returns to the original with a brand-new rework, revisiting the track through a contemporary lens while retaining the swing, soul and restless rhythmic energy that made it such an enduring record. We have assembled an extensive remix package featuring EVM128, Piers Kirwan, Imantus & Reon Vanger and Haze City. Each artist brings their own interpretation, exploring the spaces between broken beat, bruk, jazz, soul and forward-thinking electronic music. Twenty years after it first landed, ‘Yemp Booty’ returns as ‘Re Booty’-renewed, reshaped and ready for the dancefloor once again.
