Behind the Deep House : Release Notes
Yousef digs deep into his unreleased catalogue and remasters one of his many hidden gems. After playing this for his dj mates Bontan & Mele, they both said it needs to be released! Although resolutley fresh,”Had No Sleep” was originally made 14 years ago in a surround sound studio in Liverpool and was never released as a single… The track features vocals from Tom Crew, whose style is reminiscent of early Talking Heads, playfully chanting about late-night mistakes. Yousef lays down a slamming but chugging drum workout and melancholic stabs that are as equally trippy as the vocal.
