Behind the Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) : Release Notes
House boss Hollen continues his immersive musical journey with “Funk Off” EP, his latest release on Prospect Records. A new chapter in his ongoing sonic research, blending groove, depth and underground atmospheres while moving between funky influences, old-school nuances and Detroit Techno-inspired elements. The main track “Funk Off”, as the title suggests, is a concentrated dose of funky rhythms, driven by a hypnotic vocal chop and sharp, cutting drums that give the track a dynamic and incisive energy. “Push Factor” follows the groove-funky nuances of the title track, but moves into a different sonic dimension, developing a distinctive and well-defined mood while maintaining the rhythmic drive that characterises the entire EP. Closing the circle is “Multiple Chords”, a journey into an authentic old-school groove, where rhythmic and harmonic elements lean towards the atmospheres of Detroit Techno, completing the EP’s sonic journey. Three tracks. One groove-driven journey. “Funk Off” — Hollen.
