Behind the Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) : Release Notes

Float Records presents Pissful Life, an eight-track EP by Uberkeine, exploring the edges of techno through a restless combination of broken rhythms, glitching textures, and distorted percussion. While elements of breakbeat and glitch continuously push against its structure, the core remains firmly rooted in techno, creating a sound that feels both familiar and difficult to place. At the heart of Uberkeines approach is a process of repeatedly resampling his own recordings, searching for the ghosts and imperfections hidden within the earliest versions of each sound. Every element is created from scratch, allowing him to fully understand and manipulate the sounds he works with. Each track revolves around a central theme, reflected in its title, while the music becomes a space to process and release different states of mind. In this sense, Pissful Life is not only a study of sound, but also a form of expression, a way of communicating through music where words once proved difficult. Across the eight tracks, these ideas come together in a raw and unconventional take on techno.
