100Hz is a British group formed in 1989 by Lee Renacre, James Chapman, and Doran Walker. The trio began by selling white label releases from the back of their car before achieving chart success with their early house tracks "Low Frequency Overload" and "Catching Spyders" on Optimism Records.
100Hz produces house and techno with a distinctly funkier edge, incorporating sinister vocals and unconventional beat patterns into their productions. The group releases across multiple labels including Bosconi Records, Beef Records, Constant Sound, BP Digital, and Black Hole Recordings, with their output spanning deep house, minimal deep tech, and traditional house genres. Their music maintains the groove-focused approach that characterized their early chart successes while adapting to contemporary electronic music production standards.
