Aera

Aera is the project of Berlin-based DJ and producer Ralf Schmidt, who began releasing music in 2010. Schmidt founded the Applied Magic label and has built a catalog of 29 releases over more than a decade of production. Based in Germany's electronic music capital, he operates as a solo artist under the Aera moniker.

Aera's sound spans deep house, melodic house & techno, and indie dance, with releases appearing on respected labels including Innervisions, Permanent Vacation, and his own Applied Magic imprint. His productions blend house rhythms with electronica elements, creating tracks that work across both club and home listening contexts. Since his debut release in 2010, Schmidt has maintained consistent output through Exit Strategy and Aleph Music, developing a melodic approach that bridges underground house sensibilities with crossover appeal for DJs seeking deeper, more introspective selections.
