Alar
About
Alar is a Swedish electronic music producer who began releasing music in 2021. Born Alar Suurna on July 10, 1953, he operates from Stockholm where he runs his own production facility. Despite his decades-long background as a sound engineer, mixer, and drummer in Sweden's broadcasting industry, his electronic music career launched in February 2021 with his debut release.
Alar produces across indie dance, melodic house and techno, afro house, and progressive house, delivering 20 releases since 2021. His music appears on Voltaire Music, ZEHN Records, Maneki Neko, Heinz Music, and Get Physical Music, with additional output tagged as tech house and drum and bass. The producer's sound spans from progressive house's deeper tempos to the driving energy of tech house, incorporating both melodic elements and percussion-heavy afro house rhythms that reflect his extensive drumming background.
