Arts of Techno

Arts of Techno is a UK duo comprised of Mark Williams and Matt Clayden, who also operate under the aliases M&M, X-Gate, and Williams & Clayden. The pair founded X-Gate Records and began releasing material under the Arts of Techno moniker in July 2025, with their most recent output appearing in February 2026.

Their sound centers on peak time driving techno and raw deep hypnotic variations, delivering the kind of relentless energy that works in prime time slots. Arts of Techno has released five tracks across Diffuse Reality Records, Children Of Tomorrow, and trau-ma, showcasing their ability to work with established underground labels. Their dual approach spans both the driving peak hour sound that fills large rooms and the deeper hypnotic territories that suit more intimate settings, giving DJs flexibility in programming their releases across different parts of a set.
