Aux 88

Aux 88 is a Detroit electro/techno group formed in 1993 by Tommy Hamilton and Keith Tucker. The duo originally performed together as RX-7 starting in 1985 with Anthony Horton, and later operated under the name Sight Beyond Sight before establishing Aux 88. After Tucker departed for a solo career in 1995, Hamilton continued the project with former dancer William "BJ" Smith (Posatronix), who left in 1998, making Aux 88 Hamilton's solo endeavor. The group operates under aliases including Alien FM and Aux Men.

Aux 88 produces classic Detroit electro alongside raw techno and driving house tracks, with releases spanning from 2010 to 2022 on labels including creme organization and Puzzlebox Records. Their sound ranges from hypnotic deep techno to peak-time driving rhythms, maintaining the traditional Detroit electro aesthetic with modern production techniques. The project's five documented releases showcase a consistent approach to both nostalgic electro programming and contemporary techno arrangements, delivering the mechanical precision and analog warmth characteristic of Detroit's electronic music heritage.
