About
Awen is a Texas-based group formed in 2003, initially operating as a neofolk/martial industrial band from the Dallas area. The group includes members Per Nilsson, Erin Powell, Eric Kristoffer, Katrin X, and Wes Radvansky. Since transitioning into electronic music, Awen began releasing tracks in 2014 and has produced 11 releases across various electronic labels.
Awen's electronic output spans melodic house & techno, Afro house, and peak time driving techno, with occasional ventures into electronica and downtempo territory. The group releases music on established labels including Mobilee Records, dftd, Cercle Records, Rise Music, and Madorasindahouse Records. Their sound incorporates the driving energy of peak time techno with melodic house elements and Afro house rhythms, creating tracks suitable for both main room sets and deeper, more introspective moments on the dancefloor.
