Ayla

Ayla is the recording and performing name of German trance producer Ingo Kunzi, who operates from Baden-Württemberg and created the project in 1995. Kunzi also performs under the aliases DJ Tandu and Montoya, establishing himself in the German trance scene during the mid-1990s. His breakthrough single "Ayla" achieved commercial success when remixed by Taucher, entering the UK Singles Chart at #22, followed by the collaborative track "Ayla Part 2" in 1998 which reached the German sales chart top 40.

Under the Ayla moniker, Kunzi has evolved his sound significantly since returning to active production in 2022, moving from his original hard trance roots into melodic house and techno territories. His recent releases span deep house, Afro house, and main floor trance across labels including Black Hole Recordings and Hysterical, with five releases between 2022 and 2025. The current Ayla sound incorporates the melodic sensibilities of his trance background while adapting to contemporary house music tempos and production styles, making his tracks suitable for both peak-time and deeper sets.
