Barbatuques is a Brazilian group comprised of five members: Dani Zulu, Marcelo Pretto, Fernando Barba, Lu Horta, and Flavia Maia. The collective began releasing electronic music in May 2019, amassing 12 releases across various imprints over their active period through 2025.
The group produces across multiple electronic genres, spanning Afro House, Tech House, House, Indie Dance, and Peak Time Techno. Their releases appear on established labels including MoBlack Records, FFRR, Wired, Cr2 Records, and Dawn Patrol Records. Barbatuques delivers both driving peak-time energy and more subdued house grooves, with their Afro House productions incorporating rhythmic elements that reflect their Brazilian heritage while maintaining dancefloor functionality across different tempos and moods.
