About
Barut is the project of Miami-based DJ and producer Cristian Perera, who began releasing music in 2019. The project operates as a collaboration with Hildegunn Øiseth, making Barut a duo rather than a solo act. Perera releases under both his real name and the Barut alias, with nine releases documented since his debut in November 2019.
Barut's sound spans minimal deep tech, house, and driving techno, with releases appearing on labels including Sintope Vinyl Series, Botanic Minds, More Than Music, and Sintope Digital. The duo also releases material independently without label backing. Their output ranges from hypnotic deep techno to peak-time driving tracks, positioning their music for both underground club sets and primetime dance floors. Recent releases extend into 2026, indicating continued activity across the minimal and techno spectrum.
