Basicnoise

Basicnoise is the dub-techno and ambient-techno project of German producer Peter Fanai, based in Wiesbaden, Germany. Founded in 2006, the project operates under the alias Convex as well, with Fanai maintaining his own website and active presence on Mixcloud for DJ sets. Basicnoise began releasing music through Electrobuzz's tracking system in February 2018, accumulating six releases across multiple labels over a seven-year span through 2025.

Basicnoise produces raw, deep, and hypnotic techno alongside dub techno compositions, releasing material on Greyscale and spclnch labels. The project's sound spans from peak-time driving techno to ambient-influenced electronica, demonstrating range across both dancefloor-focused and introspective territories. Fanai's productions blend the meditative qualities of dub techno with the intensity of raw techno, creating tracks suitable for both late-night club sets and deeper listening experiences.
