Batu is the project of Omar McCutcheon, a producer from Bristol who began releasing music in 2015. McCutcheon runs the Timedance label, which has become a key outlet for his output alongside his work as a solo artist. He operates primarily under the Batu moniker, though he also releases music under his real name.
Batu's sound spans peak time techno, ambient, tech house, and leftfield house and techno, creating music that moves between driving club tracks and more experimental territories.
