Baumecker

Andreas Baumecker, known simply as Baumecker, is a German electronic producer who began his career in Frankfurt during the early 1990s. He was discovered by Heiko Laux and Ata from Playhouse Records, who gave him a residency at their WildPitchClub and hired him to work at their record shop Delerium. This connection led to an A&R position with UCMG Germany, where he launched his own imprint Freu_nd before establishing his current label Freundinnen. In 2004, Baumecker relocated to Berlin and secured a residency at Berghain.

Baumecker produces peak time driving techno and deep house, with releases spanning from 2012 to 2023 on Ostgut Ton, Berghain's affiliated label. His sound incorporates elements of ambient techno and post-dubstep, delivering the heavyweight, industrial-tinged productions that define the Ostgut Ton catalog. His five releases on the label demonstrate his ability to craft both floor-focused techno tracks and deeper, more atmospheric compositions suitable for extended DJ sets. The association with Ostgut Ton positions his music within Berlin's most respected techno institution.
