Benkt operates as the techno alias of Swedish musician Benkt Nils Einar Söderberg, born October 20, 1958 in Göteborg and currently based in Stockholm. The veteran producer, who previously recorded under his birth name Benkt Svensson, launched his techno project in 2025 with his first release appearing in April on the Sway label.

Benkt produces raw, deep, and hypnotic techno that draws from his decades of experience as a guitarist, bassist, and sound technician. His five releases on Sway span from April through December 2025, showcasing a focused approach to driving, atmospheric productions. The project represents a late-career pivot into electronic music for the 66-year-old Swedish artist, channeling his studio expertise into club-oriented techno.
