Black Asteroid

Black Asteroid is the electronic music project of American producer Bryan Barton, also known as Bryan Black. Barton began his career as a sound designer for Prince at Paisley Park Studios before relocating to London, where he formed the band MOTOR and secured a deal with Novamute. He launched the Black Asteroid project in 2013 with his first release appearing on international deejay gigolo records.

Black Asteroid produces driving techno that spans peak-time club tracks and deeper, hypnotic compositions. His releases appear on respected labels including CLR, fabric Records, PLS.UK, and Founders Of Filth, with twelve releases documented between 2013 and 2025. The project incorporates elements of minimal techno, industrial techno, and EBM, drawing from Barton's background in sound design. His sound ranges from raw, stripped-back techno to indie dance crossover material, maintaining the industrial edge that defines his approach to electronic music production.
