Black Light Smoke

Black Light Smoke is the electronic music project of Jordan Lieb, an Emmy Award-winning composer and producer based in New York. Lieb began releasing electronic music under the Black Light Smoke moniker in August 2013 and also operates under the alias John Hughes Daydream. Since launching the project, he has released 11 records across multiple labels, establishing himself as a versatile producer in the underground electronic scene.

Black Light Smoke's sound spans deep house, peak time techno, indie dance, classic electro, and nu disco, creating music that works across different dancefloor contexts. His releases appear on respected labels including Turbo Recordings, Scissor & Thread, Death Decay Magic, Hafendisko, and Zone. The project delivers both driving techno cuts suitable for peak time sets and deeper house tracks that build atmospheric tension. Lieb's production style draws from classic Detroit electro influences while incorporating modern electronic elements, resulting in tracks that translate well from intimate club environments to larger festival stages.
