Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, BRID hails from Connecticut. Her sound evokes the soulful essence of her idols such as Selena, Michael Jackson, Tamia, La India, Jon Secada, Chanté Moore, Angela Bofill, Phyllis Hyman, Whitney Houston, and Tammi Terrell, yet lined with genuineness and raw emotions that are filled with a deep sense of belonging. Her music heavily draws from her life experiences and the challenges she’s faced as an outsider who started writing songs at the tender age of twelve as a way to cope with the bullying she faced at school. Her music explores the themes of self-love, independence, alienation, anxiety, relationships, growth, and hopefulness. Backed by punchy drums and polished melodies, BRID brings a unique 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, Jazz, and R&B twist to her music combined with soulful vocals.
