Caribou

Caribou is the electronic music project of Dan Snaith, a Canadian artist from Dundas, Ontario who began releasing music in 2000. Originally performing under the pseudonym Manitoba, Snaith was forced to change his moniker to Caribou in 2004 following a lawsuit. He also releases music under the alias Daphni and has been signed to Leaf Records since 2000. Snaith's first release under the Caribou name on Electrobuzz appeared in October 2010, with his most recent appearing in January 2025.

Caribou's sound spans electronic, house, nu disco, and electronica territories, drawing from neo-psychedelia and dream pop influences. His music has been categorized as "folktronica" by media outlets, particularly following his 2003 album "Up In Flames." On Electrobuzz, Caribou releases through City Slang and Jiaolong labels, with 19 total releases spanning downtempo electronica to more dancefloor-oriented house tracks. Snaith frequently collaborates with Kieran Hebden (Four Tet), and his productions blend organic instrumentation with electronic programming across varying tempos and energy levels.
