Codex Empire

Codex Empire is the techno project of British-born, Vienna-based producer Mahk Rumbae, who has been creating experimental electronic music for 25 years. Rumbae also operates under the aliases Binary, Toxic Frequency, and Cathedra, and performs as one half of industrial/experimental band. The project began releasing techno tracks in November 2015 and has maintained consistent output through September 2024 across eight releases.

Codex Empire produces peak time driving techno and hard techno designed for dancefloor impact. The project has released music on aufnahme + wiedergabe, Horo, Murder Records, Rant & Rave Records, and Persephonic Sirens, establishing presence across multiple established techno imprints. The sound draws from Rumbae's industrial and experimental background, delivering high-energy tracks suited for peak hours and harder techno sets.
