Conceptual

Conceptual is the project of Italian producer Simone Scardino, who operates from Berlin, Germany. Scardino began releasing music under the Conceptual moniker in March 2023 and co-owns the Polegroup record label. The project has issued seven releases across a span of just over two years, establishing a presence in the European techno circuit.

The Conceptual sound centers on raw, deep, and hypnotic techno, with occasional ventures into ambient territory and peak-time driving arrangements. Scardino releases material on prominent techno imprints including Semantica Records, Immaterial.Archives, Inguma, and Distorted Waves, alongside his own Polegroup label. The productions typically maintain the darker, hypnotic qualities associated with contemporary European techno, suitable for both underground club environments and more introspective listening sessions. The project's output demonstrates a focus on atmospheric techno that balances dancefloor functionality with deeper sonic exploration.
