D.Ramirez

D.Ramirez Artist Bio

With so much hype and excitement in the current electronic music scene, it can be hard to keep up – so many tracks, so little time. That’s why it’s the one’s who consistently produce quality and have the innate talent to “deliver” that are still standing at the end of the day. D.Ramirez fits this bill and remains at the cutting edge of electronic music both producing and DJing.

The biggest development in Dean’s career came when he felt he had done all he could with the funky house sound he’d been tagged with and became enthused with the New York tribal sound that was re-emerging in the late nineties. The D.Ramirez moniker was born which has seen him release on labels such as Toolroom Records, Underwater, Four:twenty Recordings, Yoshitoshi, Blanco Y Negro, Junior , Choo Choo, Phonetic, Thrust, Whoop!, Lot 49 and of course his own Slave imprint.

Voted DJ Magazine’s Best British Producer and Best British Remixer, his remix of Bodyrox ‘Yeah Yeah’ got nominated for an Ivor Novello award, which also achieved huge chart success in several countries. Underground smashes with La Discotek, Pleasure Me, System, Throb & Columbian Soul, two Ministry of Sound mix albums (Sessions & Discotek) and an album of his own productions & remixes and all this in 2007!!!!!!!!!!

2008 will see the world wide release of ‘Rewind Fastforward’ and single releases and collaborations with Dirty South and vocalists TC & Robert Owens. Dean will continue to play some of the finest nightclubs and biggest festivals in the world touring Europe, USA, South America, Asia and Australia throughout the year. His ‘Colombian Soul’ collaboration with Mark Knight is also up for the Club Banger Of The Year at the World Club Awards run by Billboard.

The first single of the year ‘With Me Or Against Me’ featuring TC on vocals is released through Toolroom Records in March. The single includes a radio edit, club mixes and several high profile remixes and is already being heralded as a contender for one of the tunes to watch out for at this year’s WMC.
