Dakota

Dakota is the progressive house alias of German producer Markus Schulz, who began releasing music under this moniker in April 2018. Schulz, who also records under aliases including Himmel and Spastik Plastik, has released 13 tracks as Dakota across major electronic music labels including Black Hole Recordings, Coldharbour Black, Yoruba Records, and Ultra.

Dakota's sound spans melodic house and techno, progressive house, tech house, and deep house territories. The project focuses on the more melodic and progressive elements of Schulz's production style, with releases primarily appearing on established progressive and trance-oriented imprints like Black Hole Recordings and Coldharbour Black. The Dakota releases typically feature the driving, emotive characteristics associated with modern progressive house, offering DJs music suitable for peak-time and emotional moments in their sets across the house and techno spectrum.
