Damon Wild

Damon Wild, born Jan P. Stegemann, originates from New Orleans before relocating to New York City to launch his music career in 1991. He founded Experimental Records and later established Synewave, marking his entry into the techno production scene. Wild operates under several aliases including Border Patrol, Mistaken Identity, and Psyodomy, with his Subtractive Synthesis moniker gaining particular recognition in underground circles.

Wild produces raw, hypnotic techno characterized by acidic elements and minimalistic arrangements, with notable tracks including "Avion," "Rotary," and "Bang The Acid." His releases appear on established labels including Missile Records, Soma Records, and Sonic Groove, spanning from deep, hypnotic techno to peak-time driving variations. The St. Louis-connected producer maintains a sound rooted in acid techno traditions while delivering both stripped-down minimal productions and harder-edged peak-time material suitable for main room sets.
