Daryn Steytler

Daryn Steytler operates from Cape Town and Stellenbosch, South Africa, where he produces techno under his real name Daryn LaMontagne. He launched his recording career in March 2023 with releases on trau-ma, marking his entry into the underground techno circuit. Steytler runs the independent label KONCEPT, which focuses on raw, deep, hypnotic, modular, and hard groove dub production. He also founded and directs LINKED, an event company that organizes techno events in Cape Town's growing underground scene.

Steytler produces raw, deep, and hypnotic techno alongside peak time driving material, drawing from his drumming background to create intricate rhythm patterns and modular sequences. His releases appear on labels including trau-ma, Synthlab Records, BCCO, and Evilgroove Records, with nine releases catalogued through early 2026. His productions feature raw ambiances and modular synthesizer work that reflects his underground approach to techno construction. The combination of his percussive foundation and modular synthesis creates material suitable for both deeper sets and peak time floors.
