Daso Franke was a German DJ and producer who began releasing electronic music in 2010. Born in 1981 and originally from Pune, he established himself in Germany's electronic music scene over a twelve-year career that spanned from 2010 until 2022. Franke released 18 tracks across his career before passing away in April 2018 after battling cancer.
His sound encompassed deep house, tech house, peak time techno, and minimal deep tech, with releases on respected labels including Bedrock Records, Spectral Sound, Soulfooled, Tale & Tone, and Connaisseur Recordings. Daso's productions typically featured driving energy suitable for peak-time sets, blending the rhythmic elements of tech house with the atmospheric depth of minimal techno. His work on Bedrock Records, John Digweed's imprint, positioned him within the progressive and deeper end of the house and techno spectrum, while his releases on Spectral Sound connected him to Detroit's influential electronic music legacy.
