Dave Aju

Dave Aju is the stage name of Marc David Barrite, an American producer and DJ based in San Francisco. Coming from a family of jazz musicians, Barrite received formal training and played drums for five years and piano for three years before transitioning to electronic music production. He also records under the alias Marc Barrite and began releasing music in 2011.

Dave Aju produces deep house and house music with excursions into leftfield house & techno and peak time driving techno. His releases appear on labels including Elbow Grease, Accidental Jnr, Circus Company, Mule Musiq, and Musik Krause. His sound draws from his jazz background while maintaining the groove-focused approach typical of San Francisco's house scene. With 22 releases spanning over a decade, his production style encompasses both dancefloor-ready tracks and more experimental leftfield compositions that blur the boundaries between house and techno.
