About

Dave Clarke is an English DJ and producer born David Maurice Clarke in Brighton on September 19, 1968, and currently based in Amsterdam. He started as a hip-hop DJ in the mid-1980s before shifting to acid house and rave by the decade's end, beginning his recording career in the early 1990s under the alias Pig City. Clarke has recorded under multiple aliases including Fly By Wire, Directional Force, and Hardcore, and founded two record labels. Since 2000, he has hosted the radio show "Technology" on Studio Brussels in Belgium, where he promotes new techno and electro artists.

Clarke's sound spans peak time driving techno and raw deep hypnotic techno, with recent releases also incorporating tech house and breaks. He has released on labels including Skint Records, 541, Sincopat, and Turbo Recordings, with 19 releases tracked since his first documented release in March 2013. His techno productions deliver the high-energy, driving characteristics that define peak time sets, while his deeper material explores more hypnotic territories. Clarke's versatility extends beyond pure techno into breakbeat and UK bass territories, reflecting his roots in the broader electronic music spectrum that shaped his early DJ career.
