About

As lead singer and main songwriter of The Judy’s, David Bean quickly established himself as one of Texas’ premier performers. Bob Claypool of the Houston Post called him a “veteran of the music scene” by age 25 and Liam Sternberg (Walk Like an Egyptian) called him “an amazing songwriter with a incredible vocal range”. Even Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) hailed Bean as “one of America’s best kept secrets”.

In addition to his work with The Judy's, Bean has released a solo EP, Modomusic (1983, released as bonus tracks on the 2007 CD debut of The Judy's Moo Album), appeared on recordings with other artists, been included on an Elektra/Asylum Texas music compilation, been featured in several film and video soundtracks, and has had his songs covered by numerous other bands.
