DEM2

DEM2 is Dean Boylan from Canvey Island, who originally formed the UK garage duo Dem 2 with Spencer Edwards in the mid-1990s. The pair founded New York Soundclash Records as their primary label outlet and released influential two-step tracks throughout the late 90s before Boylan began operating as a solo artist under the DEM2 moniker from 2011 onwards.

DEM2's current sound centers on tech house and house music, with releases appearing on labels including Terms & Conditions, Club Bad, Material, Ultra, and Repopulate Mars since 2021. His productions blend funky house elements with contemporary tech house frameworks, maintaining the groove-focused sensibilities from his UK garage background while adapting to modern dancefloor demands. The tracks typically operate in the 120-128 BPM range with emphasis on percussive elements and bass-driven arrangements that work effectively in club environments.
