Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode is an English electronic music group formed in March 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The band originally consisted of Dave Gahan on lead vocals, Martin Gore on keyboards and guitar, Andy Fletcher on keyboards, and Vince Clarke on keyboards, with Clarke serving as chief songwriter until 1981 when Gore took over that role. The group previously performed under the name Composition Of Sound before adopting the Depeche Mode moniker, named after a French fashion magazine.

Depeche Mode operates within electronica and electronic genres, releasing material through Columbia and Columbia (Sony) labels since their first tracked release in April 2011. Their sound incorporates elements of synthpop, downtempo, and industrial music, drawing from their decades-spanning career in electronic music production.
