Desert Sound Colony

Desert Sound Colony is the house project of British artist Liam Wachs, who launched the project in 2014 with releases appearing across underground electronic labels. The group operates from the UK and runs their own imprint Holding Hands Records alongside their recording activities. Since their debut release in October 2014, Desert Sound Colony has maintained consistent output with 14 releases spanning over a decade of production work.

Desert Sound Colony's sound encompasses house, minimal deep tech, and peak time driving techno, with occasional forays into classic Detroit electro and UK garage influences. Their releases appear on respected underground labels including Futureboogie Recordings, Fayer, Touch From A Distance, and On Loop, alongside their own Holding Hands Records imprint. The project's tracks range from deeper minimal house cuts suitable for extended DJ sets to driving techno designed for peak time dance floor moments. Their discography demonstrates consistent evolution across house and techno subgenres while maintaining the project's core underground aesthetic through 2025.
