Detroit Swindle

Detroit Swindle is a Dutch production duo comprised of Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets, based in Amsterdam. The pair began releasing music in 2012 and operate under the alias Dam Swindle since November 2020. They run their own label Heist Recordings and have also released under the K98 moniker.

Detroit Swindle produces deep house and house music with occasional techno excursions, releasing on labels including Heist Recordings, Freerange Records, Glasgow Underground, Aus Music, and Classic Music Company. Their sound centers on groove-driven deep house that balances classic house sensibilities with contemporary production techniques. Over 24 releases spanning 2012 to 2020, their catalog ranges from peak-time driving techno to more subdued deep house offerings, making their tracks suitable for both prime-time DJ sets and deeper moments on the dancefloor.
