DJ Deeon

DJ Deeon, born Deeon Boyd, operates from Chicago's south side where he developed his sound through house parties in housing projects and selling mixtapes in parking lots. The Chicago native performs under multiple aliases including Playground Productionz, Low End Theory, and Big Freek. He runs Ghetto Rhythm Composers, his own label that serves as a platform for his ghetto house productions.

Deeon produces ghetto house and Chicago house tracks that range from deep house to peak time techno, with releases spanning from 2014 to present across labels including Defected, Chiwax, [Basic Beat, and Drumcode. His music maintains the raw energy of Chicago's underground scene, designed for what he describes as "for the strippers, for the street." The producer's 30+ releases demonstrate his ability to move between driving techno tempos and deeper house grooves while maintaining the stripped-down, percussive style that defines Chicago's ghetto house movement.
