DJ Honesty is the alias of Hans Schaaf, a German producer and DJ who has been active since 1990 and operates from Berlin. Schaaf also works as a lacquer cutting engineer at Calyx Mastering, where his work can be identified by the "Honesty" imprint in record runouts. He produces under additional aliases including Honey Drop and Hans Schaaf, with his DJ Honesty project launching its first release in February 2016.
DJ Honesty's sound spans deep house, house, minimal/deep tech, and tech house across eight releases. His tracks appear on labels including Quality Vibe Records, Vessel Records, Cabinet Records, Bass Culture Records, and Syncrophone. The project represents a shift from Schaaf's earlier trance and future jazz work, focusing on house-oriented productions that leverage his decades of experience in electronic music production and his technical mastering background.
