DJ Koze

DJ Koze is Hamburg-based German producer Stefan Kozalla, who operates under multiple aliases including Monaco Schranze and Swahimi. Born in 1972 in Flensburg, Kozalla began his music career in the 1990s as a member of Hamburg hip-hop group Fischmob before transitioning to electronic music production. In 2009, he founded Pampa Records, which serves as the primary outlet for his releases and showcases other electronic artists.

Koze's sound spans electronica, deep house, melodic house and techno, with releases appearing on Pampa Records, Kompakt, and Hart & Tief since 2010. His productions blend house rhythms with techno elements and electronica textures, creating tracks that work across different dancefloor contexts. The German producer maintains a consistent output of atmospheric house music that incorporates minimal techno influences, with his catalog extending across 47 releases that demonstrate his evolution from hip-hop roots into contemporary electronic music production.
