DJ Sneak

DJ Sneak, born Carlos Sosa in Puerto Rico in 1969, relocated to Chicago in the early 1980s where he became immersed in the city's house music scene. Unable to speak English upon arrival, Sosa gravitated toward instrumental music and was influenced by Chicago legends Marshall Jefferson and DJ Pierre. He operates under several aliases including Blu Belly Bandit, Track Assassin, and Jack Da Ripper, and runs his own imprint DJ sneak Classics alongside releases on Clarisse Records and guesthouse music.

His sound spans classic house, tech house, deep house, and minimal deep tech, with 113 releases catalogued between 2009 and 2016 on the Electrobuzz database. DJ Sneak's productions draw from disco house and jackin house traditions, delivering both driving tech house cuts and deeper, more introspective tracks. His output on labels like Clarisse Records showcases his ability to work across tempos while maintaining the percussive, sample-heavy approach that defines Chicago house music.
