Dopplereffekt

Dopplereffekt is a Detroit-based electronic group formed in 1995 and led by Gerald Donald. The group operates from Detroit, Michigan, with members including William Scott, Kim Karli, and Michaela To-Nhan Bertel. Donald also records under aliases Der Zyklus and Dr. Finn & Dr. Otto Henke, maintaining multiple project identities within the Detroit electronic music scene.

The group's sound spans electro and Detroit techno foundations while expanding into Afro house, deep house, and funky house territories. Dopplereffekt releases music through Curtis Electronix, Latency, and Tresor Records, with their recent catalog beginning in June 2024. Their house-oriented material operates at mid-tempo ranges typical of deep and Afro house, contrasting with their established electro work that helped define the Detroit electronic sound since the mid-1990s.
