Doug Gomez

Douglas Gomez produces electronic music under the name Doug Gomez and operates from Costa Rica, having relocated from his original base in New York. He runs Merecumbe Recordings and previously worked as A&R and label manager at Waako Records. Gomez also releases music under the alias Hubert Street and began his current production output in March 2022.

His productions span house, deep house, and Afro house, with occasional ventures into indie dance and dance-pop territories. Gomez releases on Nervous Records, Heattraxx, and his own Merecumbe Recordings imprint, accumulating twenty releases since 2022. His tracks maintain the groove-oriented sensibilities of classic house while incorporating Latin and Afro-Caribbean rhythmic elements that reflect his current Costa Rican base and New York roots.
